Government declares mandatory quarantine for anyone entering Peru.

Through a supreme decree No. 207-2020-PCM, the government of President Francisco Sagasti established that all persons entering Peru must comply with mandatory quarantine for 14 days as of January 4, with the aim of preventing the advance of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

“Provide, as of January 4, 2021, the mandatory quarantine for a period of 14 calendar days, counted from arrival in the national territory, for all Peruvians, foreigners residing in Peru, and visiting foreigners who enter the national territory through international means of transport, regardless of the country of origin ”, indicates the regulation published this Thursday night.

Supreme Decree No. 207-2020-PCM also establishes that all Peruvians, foreign residents and visitors who enter Peru in this period will quarantine at their home, in the Pan-American Village or another temporary isolation center, or in a lodging, prior coordination with the health authority.

For their part, Peruvians, foreigners residing in Peru and visiting foreigners who enter the national territory by international transport from today 1 to 3 January, coming from countries where new variants of the SARS virus have been identified -CoV-2, the antigen test to discard COVID-19 will be applied on the same day of arrival in the country.
